Megan Shoaf is a lyric coloratura soprano based in the San Fernando Valley. She is currently completing the final year of her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Arts Performance at California State University, Northridge. In addition to operatic performance, Megan also has a wide variety of experience in musical theatre, having performed roles such as Rapunzel in Into the Woods, Vivienne in Legally Blonde, and Roxie Hart in Chicago. She has recently been involved with Guild Opera Company’s production of Alice in Wonderland, in which she regularly performs the roles of the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, and Mock Turtle in outreach showings at local elementary schools. At CSUN, Megan has taken part in numerous ensembles, including the elite Northridge Singers choral ensemble, Studio Ensemble, and Guitar Chamber Ensemble. Professionally, Megan intends to pursue a career in both operatic and theatrical performance, while also exploring a wide variety of other opportunities as they arise. She is especially interested in the intersection between musical and dramatic expression, and hopes to expand her students’ artistic capabilities through text sensitivity and by increasing mental and physical awareness.
