Hi, I'm Robbie Knauer and my husband and I run the Knauer Music School. We have a strong desire to provide a fulfilling and inspiring experience to all our students by giving meaningful support to the many different musical interest and goals each one has. My husband Ben is a master piano technician who has provided quality pianos for decades to musicians all over the world. Ben has been a passionate piano player, song writer and singer since he was a child and his talents in this area have created hit records for his songwriting, singing and arranging. Ben and I have raised three children and for twenty consecutive years I was involved in our children's musical education. I researched extensively to learn about music lesson pedagogy, wanting to have an understanding for the teaching methods of the best classical teachers in Los Angeles area, as well as the creative techniques to expand into composition, improvisation and song writing. Ben and I see the joy constantly that music brings into our children's everyday lives from having provided a strong music foundation. Our home is often filled with music from a daughter or two singing and playing piano, a son on drums and a friend or relative on the guitar, saxophone or stand up bass. At these moments I'm always thinking to myself "I love my life"

As far as our music teachers are concerned, Ben and I are in awe of the amazing instructors we have on our team. Their level of musicianship, enthusiastic devotion to their students and the warm caring individuals that they are, truly touches us and we feel so grateful that these are the teachers that represent our school. We truly love our entire team at The Knauer Piano Music School and hope you will too.

Robbie is amazing! She is an expert at finding the perfect teacher match for the adult or child student. Michaela is teaching piano to my 11 year old and she is wonderful. Camille is my beginning sax teacher and is the best. I am grateful to the Knauer Pianos Music School.

I've been attending group piano lessons at Knauer Pianos for the past 3 months, and I'm very pleased with the progress I've made thus far. The instructors are incredibly helpful, and not big-headed like other piano teachers I've had. The program is curtailed to the pace of the individual participants, ensuring that you are not left behind. Within 3 months, I went from playing simple chords onward to scales to, at this point, somewhat complex note patterns. After each lesson, I find myself teaching my son all that I've learned!

"It all started when I got the love of rock and country music. After I got to know it really well, I said to my dad, “Dad, I need to know how to play this music!” We went to two different music schools, Mozart music and Knauer pianos. Knauer came out on top after I met the teacher I would have if I joined. His name was Leo and he liked heavy metal like me. In my first lesson, we went over basic chords. In my second lesson, we started learning the riff to a song called “Enter Sandman,” by Metallica. At the moment, I know the whole intro to the song!
