Songwriting and Composition Camp

M-F for 1 week 8am-12pm | Tarzana Location
Ages 7 and up | Cap Size: 6 Students | Led by Michaela Eremiasova

The summer songwriting workshop under the direction of Michaela Eremiasova is about the art of songwriting. Students will get immersed in song structures, melodic writing, harmonic patterns, and lyric concepts. Class work will include song analysis, fundamentals of music theory, and students' original song composition. A showcase performance will be held in an intimate setting for friends and family at the end of the week.

Michaela Eremiasova (composer, educator, songwriter, producer) has become increasingly recognized for her work in concert music, music for visual media, and songwriting. She is a recipient of various composition awards including the ASCAP Foundation Rudolf Nissim Prize and the AKADEMIA "Best Pop EP" award. She is also a co-founder of Eremia-du-Arte Music and MotiVibes Music, two production companies dedicated to the creation of music for film, TV, trailers, advertising, and songwriting. Her Motivibes' song "Drawn" hit #1 on radio charts several times within last year. Her film and operatic music has been featured in over 200 national and international film festivals as well as the Cincinnati Opera and Opera Fusion Workshop, New York City Opera's VOX Festival, New Music Festival at Bowling Green State University, Kurt Weill Festival at Berlin's Sony Center in Germany. Michaela also co-composed the orchestral theme for the Toronto Blue Jays with a 55-piece orchestra and scored several productions for Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, and FOX Telecolombia. Her music has been featured in the TV spots for the award-winning films "Brooklyn" and "Lion." Eremiasova holds a Diploma in Jazz Composition from the Berklee College of Music, a Masters in Musicology from Charles University, and a PhD in Composition from the Eastman School of Music. She is currently a member of the faculty at Colburn Music Academy.


String Ensemble Camp

M-F for 1 week 9am-12pm | Tarzana Location
Ages 7 and up | Cap Size: 10 Students
Camp Dates: July 27-31 | $350 per student

All string players welcome! Students will focus on ensemble work, anywhere from duos, duets, trios, and quartets. Students will gain a heightened sense of musicality through ensemble work, encourage the ability to play with other musicians, develop a trained ear in regard to rhythm, musicality, and expression. Students will be grouped together with similar leveled students and will be able to choose repertoire from a selection offered by the teacher. A showcase performance will be held in an intimate setting for friends and family at the end of the week.

Come have fun with us at Kids Music Camp! Students will explore different aspects of music throughout the day. They will be introduced to elementary musical concepts such as note values, rhythm, key names and will learn to read and play. Students will explore piano, ukulele, singing and percussion instruments. In a group setting, students will be engaged through games, method books, and learning with and through one another.

Come have fun with us at Kids Music Camp! Students will explore different aspects of music throughout the day. They will be introduced to elementary musical concepts such as note values, rhythm, key names and will learn to read and play. Students will explore piano, ukulele, singing and percussion instruments. In a group setting, students will be engaged through games, method books, and learning with and through one another.

Students will gain a heightened sense of musicality, the ability to sing and act with other musicians and develop a trained ear in regard to rhythm and expression. Students will be grouped together with similar leveled students and will be able to choose repertoire from a selection offered. A showcase performance will be held in an intimate setting for friends and family at the end of the week.
