Jeremy Stein is an LA based saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer who has been studying and performing music in academic and professional settings for over fifteen years. Jeremy began his music studies on clarinet in middle school, where with the help of his band director and private teacher, he was able to participate in the Ventura County and All State Honor Bands, as well as Certificate of Merit for three years. In high school he started playing saxophone, participating in his program’s jazz band while also playing both clarinet and saxophone in local youth theater productions.
During his junior year of high school, Jeremy turned his focus to jazz saxophone, joining the Colburn School of Music’s conglomerate jazz program and participating in the SCSBOA Jazz All Stars honor band his senior year. Jeremy continued his education at Cal State Northridge in their jazz performance program, where he was able to study jazz harmony, advanced saxophone technique, and composition.
Today, Jeremy plays his original music with his quintet at various venues in the LA area, as well as collaborates with producers and songwriters on their own projects, providing clarinet, saxophone, and piano melodies and solos when needed.
