STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: August & Isla Beers

How long have you been taking lessons? “We have been taking piano for about a year and a half and we just started taking drum lessons, too.”
What inspired you to get started taking lessons? “We have a piano from Knauer in our house, so after playing on it for a while, we wanted to learn more.”
What is your favorite part about coming to your lessons? August: “The feel of pressing the keys – and my favorite song to play is Crazy Clown.” Isla: “My favorite song to play is Russian Dance.”
What kind of music do you like to play? “Classical so far, but our teacher Enjelique says we might start pop music soon and maybe Star Wars!”
What do you like to do in your free time? Play outside, jump on our trampoline. August likes Connecting Cubes and Isla likes to draw. If they graduate 1st grade with good grades and good work, they’ll get a new pet – like a chinchilla or a chameleon!
What advice do you have for other students? August: “Bang the drum hard (drums)! Use spider hands and be ready in position (piano).” Isla: “Practice at home.”
