Teacher Spotlight: Colin Jensen
Colin Jensen has been studying to become a professional drummer/percussionist since 2004. Colin has studied percussion at Snow College and Utah State University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Music Performance. His continuous years of drum set study have enabled him to perform in a large variety of styles: jazz, rock, latin, funk, metal, punk, country, reggae, new Orleans and hip hop.
As well as studying to become a drum set player, Colin has also studied to become a professional orchestral percussionist and has performed in many classical ensembles during his career.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2015, Colin has kept himself busy performing with a large variety of different groups/artists, performing music from broadway musicals to hip-hop and R&B songs. He has preformed in Night Clubs, Concert Halls, and even Cruise Ships traveling around the world.
Colin has had the great opportunity, through a series of workshops and clinics, to work and study with world renowned musicians including Jay Lawrence, Carl Allen, Ben Wolfe, Scott Wilson, James Burton III, Ron Blake, Rich Dixon, Rodney Jones, Benny Green, Steve Meredith, Bernie Dresel, Gordon Goodwin, Andy Martin, Wayne Bergeron, Eric Marienthal, Sal Lozano, and Steve Davis.
