STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Jürgen Berducido

Q: How long have you been playing piano?

A: I have been playing for two years. My first teacher was David and now I take lessons with Anjela.

Q: What do you like about playing the piano?

A: The sound…it is beautiful.

Q: What is your favorite part about coming to your lessons?

A: Learning new techniques and how I can improve my own sound and compositions.

Q: What kind of music do you like to play?

A: I play mostly classical music because I feel like it really expresses certain feelings that other music does not.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I don’t really have free time. I am in the 9th grade and I have a job at the Library for Community Hours. I go to work after school and then I come home and do homework and then practice the piano until my bedtime.

Q: What advice do you have for other students?

A: Focus on what you are most passionate about. If it is running, do the best you can. If it is music, play your feelings. Don’t just wish you could be like someone else…be yourself and the Universe will change by every step you take.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Nick Bergere

Nick Bergere is a seasoned performer and musician, thanks to his wide skill set on multiple instruments. Starting on cello, he soon learned guitar, violin, piano, drums, and bass, where he played all these instruments almost daily during the completion of his B.A in Music at the Florida State University.
Marching in the Rose Bowl, playing bass in sold out stadiums across the country, studying guitar, and playing keys for worship bands since 2008, Nick has gained an appreciation and skillset over many genres, from jazz, to metal, to contemporary, to funk. Nick is also an experienced audio engineer, and has engineering credits on dozens of tracks, writing, recording, comping, tuning, mixing, and mastering music of all styles. In his free time, Nick really enjoys rock climbing and cooking, although he would admit that he’s quite mediocre at it.
