Javier Arriagada (PECOS) is a musician graduated from Berklee College of Music with a dual major Summa Cum Laude honorary degree in Contemporary Writing and Production, and Composition.
Javier is a guitar player at heart, an instrument with which he has performed in different stages since he was a kid, growing into being the lead guitarist and singer of his band matolabanda from Chile. This experience led him to be called to perform with a variety of artists in his time at Berklee, both in the smaller stages as well as in the Berklee Performance Center. While a guitarist, Javier is proficient in drums, bass, vocals and keyboards.
During his time at Berklee, Javier was hired as a music tutor for students that needed reinforcement in their core classes at the institution. As a tutor, he was trained to teach people from different knowledge levels and understood that every student is a unique person that has their own unique needs. With all this experience, Javier has realized that music learning has to be applied to real musical situations, and that it’s not all about technique and theory, since these two are at the service of the artistic delivery of what the performers’ own voice wants to communicate through music.
