Luke has been playing classical and popular piano extensively since he was three years old. He then attended California State University, Northridge to study composition. While at Northridge, he also studied jazz piano with Matt Harris(Director of Jazz Studies). During his senior year, he began composing music for various media projects such as independent films, tv shows, and advertisements. Luke also worked as a composer for a music library-licensing company called Killer Tracks. Through these various projects, he became a member of ASCAP, and developed a deep appreciation for just about every kind of music there is.
As a piano teacher, Luke places high value on working with students through the music they love, no matter the genre. Along with lessons in music theory, musicianship, and ear training, many of his students are having fun improvising and writing their own original music in different styles. Some of Luke’s former students have been accepted to fine music programs such as The Juilliard School, Berklee College of Music, and NYU.
