Ringo Maestro hails from a place saturated with soul-full music...St. Louis, Missouri. He was singing and playing piano long before he could speak and began directing his first choir at the age of 9. Throughout his elementary and high school years, he received many state and nationwide awards for his “outside the box” directing style and remarkable vocal range. He then received a full scholarship to Xavier University in New Orleans majoring in Vocal/Choral Composition. While in New Orleans, he also studied by playing, singing and recording in and out of the French Quarters with musical innovators like Wynton Marsalis and Aaron Neville. Since then, his career has been like a pot of gumbo with an abundance of flavors. He spent time in Rome directing The Vienna Boys Choir and singing lead vocals for the Pope. He then moved to LA and landed a recording contract with MCA/Universal singing lead vocals in a group called Front Page. Meanwhile, his Musical Directing credits continued to grow including: World Tours with Kenny G, Toni Braxton and Maxwell. TV shows include: NBC’s News to Us, Sunday’s Best and HBO’s Living LA. In the voiceover world he can be heard on commercials for: McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Coke, Kia, Honda, Kraft, E-Trade, Nike, Quaker Oats, Ford and the list goes on. Last but not least, his love for the theatre lead him to be Vocal Master for productions like Red Noses at The Actors Gang and Sweeney Todd at Culver City High School and a host of productions at Champs Charter School of the Arts. You can find him these days wearing many hats, giving back to the community at CAAM (California African American Museum) as Musical Director and Performer for Target Sponsored "First Sundays" Music Festival and Director of Events for Art Shows across the United States.
Most recently Ringo will be featured on the last Miles Davis album along side Herbie Hancock. Other exciting events for Ringo are being asked to perform at Namm January 2019 as well as recently endorsed by Dexibell to showcase their new line of custom keyboards. He is so deeply appreciative to be apart of the Dexibell family and super excited to play on the final Miles Davis record, which is a testament to his artistry.
